THE CV CHECKLIST THAT GETS SOCIAL IMPACT CANDIDATES SHORTLISTED​
Use this checklist to make sure your CV is clear, relevant, and tailored for roles in the social impact sector.
 
  • Is your CV tailored to the specific role (not generic)?
  • Can a recruiter immediately understand what you do and where you add value?
  • Have you clearly linked experience to outcomes, not just responsibilities?
  • Have you included measurable impact where possible (results, change, scale)?
  • Is your experience written in clear, simple language (no jargon)?
  • Have you prioritised relevant experience over everything else?
  • Does your CV show evidence of values alignment (where appropriate)?
  • Have you removed outdated or irrelevant roles/information?
  • Is your formatting clean, consistent, and easy to read?
  • Have you checked spelling, grammar, and tone thoroughly?
  • Does your CV make it easy to understand your career story in 30 seconds?
  • Have you avoided long paragraphs and kept it scannable?
  • Does your most relevant experience appear at the top of each role?
  • Have you included key skills relevant to the sector (not just generic ones)?
  • Would a hiring manager immediately see why you are a strong fit?
